Type of Chinese Tea: Herbal Tea

• History: As a traditional health drink, kuding tea has a long history of more than 2000 years in China. Also known as a "bitter tea", it is unique even amongst Chinese beverages. The kuding tea has numerous medical properties such as cooling, detoxifying, promoting blood circulation and aiding digestion.


• Origin: Lianghe County, Yunnan Province, China.


• Dry leaves appearance: Kuding pearl tea leaves are plucked from the top three young and tender leaves of the kuding bush. The leaves are then rolled into fairly large pearls.


• Smell and Taste: Kuding tea smells pure with a fresh fragrance. Its first taste is bitter, but its aftertaste unexpectedly turns sweet. The tea can be steeped three to four times with full flavour.


• Liquor: Bright, yellowish-green liquor has an excellent clarity. The liquor is smooth and light weighted in the mouth.


• Tea supplements: Tea contains multiple vitamins and minerals that are beneficial to your general wellbeing.


• Tea benefits: Regular consumption of Kuding tea helps to lower blood pressure and cholesterol level. It is also very effective in weight loss.


• Tea storage: Keep the tea in a cool and dry place, avoid direct sunlight.


• Tea brewing: Put 1-2 pieces of the tea pearl into a tea pot. Steep for one to two minutes with 80-100 degree water for a healthy and new beverage. Contains 2-4% caffeine which is about the same as a green tea.
