Type of Chinese Tea: Oolong Tea

• About Oolong Tea: Oolong tea is also referred to as Wu Long tea but both names refer to the same product. Oolong tea has a complex flowery or fruity taste with a pleasant aftertaste. The leaves are semi oxidised by drying in the sun for a few hours before the leaves are then rolled. It is then oxidised again for a short period of time resulting in semi-oxidised tea. The health benefits of Oolong tea include the presence of antioxidants that reduce levels of damaging free radicals which in turn helps prevent aging. It also helps increase metabolism and helps digestion and weight loss.


• Origin: Fuding, Fujian Province, China.


• Dry Leaves Appearance: Tightly and evenly rolled into fisted shape. Dark green colour along with some yellowish-brown hint.


• Aroma: Fresh and sweet sugar cane fragrance in good purity combined with a fresh vegetal touch.


• Tea benefits: Wu long may help reduce cholesterol build-up in the bloodstream, burn fat, prevent heart ailments, promote healthier and stronger bones and also fight against tooth decay.


• Tea Storage: Keep the tea in a cool and dry place, avoiding direct sunlight.


• Tea Brewing: Brew 2 teaspoons of leaves with hot water (80-90 degree) for three minutes. Tea can be steeped 3-4 times depending how your preference. Don't throw out the leaves until they had completely given up!
