• Origin: Yunan Province, China.


• About Puerh Tea: Pu erh is renowned for its medicinal qualities. Unlike other teas, Pu erh's quality and taste improve with age. Its taste is often described as earthy but some very well aged Pu erh produce cups of incredibly smooth and wonderfully complex.


• Product description: A shape similar to ordinary Puerh tea cake, but the gold melon tea is larger in size with a much thicker body that is decorated with pumpkin-like "stripes". This shape was created for the famous "Tribute tea" that was made expressly for the Qing Dynasty Emperors from the best tea leaves of Yiwu Mountain. Larger specimens of this shape are sometimes called "Human-head tea" due to its size and shape.


• Health benefits: The Pu erh Tea is purported to reduce blood cholesterol. It is also widely believed in Chinese cultures to counteract the unpleasant effects of heavy alcohol consumption. In traditional Chinese medicine, the tea is believed to invigorate the spleen and the stomach. It also contributes to weight loss.


• Tea Storage: Keep the tea in a cool and dry place, sunlight will help to mature the tea. The longer puerh tea is stored the better the flavour and the more valuable it becomes!


• Tea Brewing: To prepare Pu erh tea from melon, carefully pry out the desired amount leaves and place in a teapot. Rinse by covering with boiling water and quickly pour off. Cover with boiling water again and let steep one to two minutes (depending on how light or dark you want the tea) and serve. Puerh tea can be steeped 10-20 times.
